Today I am here to show you how to remove the checker gland assembly from the GSI 2570 Mechanical Tank Gauge.
Unlike other manufacturers gauges, I will be changing out the checker gland assembly from the front of the gauge.
The Hair Pin Spring, Checker Spring, and O-Ring are now easily accessible with this new design only found on the GSI 2570 Float and Tape Tank Gauges.
With other manufactures gauges, to replace these you must remove, 16 cadmium plated screws, Back Cover, Tape Storage Sheave Assembly, Tape, and Negator Cassette or Negator Motor Hub.
With the GSI 2570 Mechanical Tank Gauge simply remove the four SS screws then remove the check gland assembly. You will be able to access the Hair Pin Spring, Checker Spring, and O-Ring, cutting down your replacement time by 90%.
