GSI-3024 Redundant Multi-function Tank Gauge


The GSI 3024 Redundant MTG2 is a tank gauge that provides all the features and options of the GSI 3012 MTG, only doubled. It is literally two independent 3012 MTG’s within one physical probe (in tank conduit). (Also see 3012 MTG information).

It was designed for companies wishing to install both a primary ATG (Automatic Tank Gauge) and ATG acting as a secondary high level alarm system or doubling as a backup to the primary ATG.

The beauty of the 3024 MTG2 is that it only requires one tank opening (gauge well), without the high cost of any structural tank modifications, extra conduit, etc. for the installation of the primary or secondary gauge.

Unlike two independent level gauges that share a Multi-point spot probe (temperature) or a pair of pressure transducers (density), the additional equipment needed with two independent gauges still represent’s a single point of failure for volume measurement (using the hybrid method).

The 3024 MTG2 provides redundancy in the measurement and calculation of all data variables (level, mass, temperature, density, and water) within the probe for the measurement of volume by Hybrid Method or Hydrostatic Method.

The 3024 Redundant MTG2 is ideally suited for applications where tank gauging data is required by two independent systems (Examples: pipeline and a receiving terminal; tanks requiring audit monitoring (one MTG for operations and one MTG for secure & remote auditing of data), etc.


 

The GSI 3024 Redundant MTG2 is a gauge designed to provide:

  • Two independent tank gauges (Electrical Interface, Transmitters, and Primary sensors), however, only one probe – One tank opening (gauge well installation capable for direct measurement of both ATG’s at the same physical measurement reference point as the manual hand line and sample).

  • Within the Win TG Pro Software and software currently under development; the 3024 MTG2 allows you the ability to combine the data from both transmitters and primary sensors into a third (combined) “Master Tank”. The accuracy of the third “Master Tank” is increased due to the overall number of sensors and sensor positions providing data. No gauge on the market can match the volume accuracy of the 3012 MTG, let alone the accuracy of the 3024 MTG2 combined “Master Tank”.

3024 MTG2 configurations are available for:

  • One MTG and a secondary high level alarm configuration
  • One MTG and sensor placement for optimal leak detection measurement
  • One MTG and sensor placement for optimal tank operations management (Over pressure, Vacuum, Density at pullout leg, etc.)
  • One MTG and a bottom water and interface configuration
  • One MTG and a mid range (oil on water) interface configuration
  • Two independent MTG’s with “Audit Trail” & Security options
  • Two independent MTG’s (Atmospheric or Pressurized tanks, i.e. spherical tank applications
